I said, enough is enough and I don’t want to hear my family afflicted with nightmares EVER again. I want you to DIE right now and never come back again. It was silenced and it never came back. I thought I was crazy, but hey, as long as it works.

Just remember Scripture says we will receive our reward in due season if we faint not. Sounds like a battle to me.

Why should I use 20 Practice Routines for Classical Guitar instead of Pumping Nylon?Pumping Nylon grew out of Scott Tennant’s desire to have something to give to his conservatory students for them to work from. And while it has grown into something much bigger than that, his preface warns “not to confuse this book with a method book..it is not sequenced progressively…It is more of a reference book..”20 Practice Routines, on the other hand, is a carefully sequenced series of technical and musical challenges that progress logically (and inexorably) though the standard 8 grades of classical guitar proficiency established and recognized worldwide. However, unlike the technique books issued by such groups as the Royal Conservatory, these routines have been specifically developed for the adult amateur classical guitarist, and extensively beta-tested on over a thousand of us at Dr. Powis’s Classical Guitar Academy (of which I am, at age 60, a relatively new member).In front of me now (in addition to both editions of Pumping Nylon & the Royal Conservatory Guitar Technique Book), are Iznaola’s Kitharlogos, Johanson’s Daily Grind, and Kappel’s Bible of Classical Guitar Technique (described by Bradford Werner as “Pumping Nylon on steroids”). If you’re a conservatory student, or in the depths of a mid-life crisis, buy all of them. But if you’re ready to buckle down and bring on the classical guitar for the love of music, 20 Routines will get you from here to there in ways that you probably wouldn’t have imagined were possible.OK, I get it. But I can get some of these others as spiral-bound books, and that’s kind of a deal-breaker for me.I know what you mean. And while this perfectly bound edition lends itself well to spiralization (Kinko’s, Office Depot, Staples), you can also order a spiral-bound edition directly from Dr. Powis

I have largely avoided book not in TAB, and I missed this one when I bought it. Yes, the exercises are useful, as others have noted. But there is simply no excuse for not including TAB, especially on a book intended for beginners.Yes, I've heard all the excuses for so-called "standard" notation - really "piano notation." In an age when authoring software can easily scan scores and add TAB, they all fall flat. To use "standard notation" you must scribble in the fingering on the score and do mental gymnastics to picture the fretboard in your mind in order to execute the score. OK, if you're intending to be a professional you'll have to put up with this and you will get good at it eventually, but less than 1% of guitar players are going to be true professionals earning a living at it, so again, the excuses fall flat.

I did eventually buy this. It's a decent book. Worth 4 stars so far. But my only low rating and complaint is with the type of listing this book falls into. They give you a "look inside" tease, but they only show you the chapter page listings and the introduction. What good is that? I understand the writer wants to protect his work, but at least show us an exercise or two so we can see if it's something we're interested in. I hate buying something blind. If this were available in a music shop you'd be able to pick it up and look at it. Why not here?

I have been a student of Dr. Powis' online classical guitar school - Classical Guitar Corner (CGC) - for 2 years and can vouch, firsthand, for his talents both as a virtuoso world-class performer and exemplary instructor. This book is a wonderful addition to his already impressive body of work. The practice routines in this book are the same as the ones in the online curriculum but with the added benefits of being all in one place and available to students not affiliated with the academy. Somehow, Dr. Powis has been able to take all the guesswork out of technique practice while at the same time making it interesting and fun. These progressive studies are the most direct method for learning technique that I have come across. I recommend them highly. I have heard that Repertoire and Sight Reading books that will complement these studies are in the offing as well - I'm eagerly awaiting those!

I have been a member of the online Classical Guitar Corner Academy for more than a year, so I am very familiar with these practice routines. They are excellent, well organized, progressive routines that have been extremely valuable to me as a beginner. I will enjoy working through them for years to come. Along with the courses that Dr. Powis has made available through the academy, these practice routines have allowed me to make significant progress. I was very excited to receive this well made, bound edition of the routines.

This book by Dr. Simon Powis is an excellent resource if you're looking for practice routines for the Classical Guitar. The book will guide through different exercises that are structured depending on your level of playing, so if you are a beginner or an advanced player, you will surely find something helpful for you everyday routine.

I am a member of Classical Guitar Corner Academy (CGCA). I came to the guitar at age 57 with no formal musical training. CGCA has not only given me a structured approach to learning how to play the guitar but has offered so much more. I am actually learning about music theory and how it relates to this beguiling instrument. The technical routines in this book are integral to that process. I don't buy paper books anymore because I feel they waste space and resources. However, the Kindle version of this book is unreadable. The author (since he is self published) should have paid a professional to make sure the layout was cleaned up for the digital version. Very disappointed because it's supposed to be good content. But seriously very difficult to read because the formatting is messy - paragraphs not in order, strange breaks after single letters, and missing sections. Extremely disappointed with this purchase.

I bought this book because it was recommended and after listening to a conference call by the author of the book. I am an independent rep for a network marketing company. What caught my eye were the words "art of vision" and "self motivation". Consistency and disciplining my day is what I struggle with. When you are your own boss, it's easy to be sidetracked, distracted and off mission. The recordings going on in your head are positive and negative and how you view your past can make you your own worst enemy. The author also asks you to identify your values, your gifts, your standards, character traits beliefs and habits. Until you know yourself, can you move forward? Can you change the story/script running in your head? Richard Brooke says yes. The choice is yours. There is so much more in this book. Add it to your learning library.

This one has boys, girls, vehicles, ballerinas, balls, animals, musical instruments. I love the variety of pictures. And the pictures are not too simple but not too detailed. Just right. Perfect. Love it!

As an adult who enjoys simple coloring and "happy" pictures when stressed I purchased this book for myself. I am very pleased with this product. There are OVER 150 designs in this book. The pages are double-sided; however the pages are good quality bright-white paper. I have been able to color pictures in this book using Crayola markers and there is NO bleed through. I can't even remotely tell what marker colors I used on the other side of a page. I most definitely will be purchasing other books from this publisher!

You may think that for a coloring book, the price is a little high, but it's really a great buy in my opinion. The book is thick with tons of great pictures. There is a little bit of everything, so the pictures are gender neutral. The lines are thick and very black, and the pages are crisp white and heavier quality. Just because the pictures are bigger, does not mean that this coloring book is best suited for a younger child, because i, as a adult, enjoy coloring in this book more so than my "adult" coloring books. There are two of these books available, red and yellow. The only downfall is that they are only two to buy, because I don't know if we will ever want to color in a regular coloring book ever again!

This coloring book is awesome! Each page has really big pictures of items - astronaut, boat, rainbow, etc - for a toddler to easily identify and color. My 16 month old and I color the pages while we name what we see. It's cute, and there are lots of different things to color.

I bought several coloring books for our twin boys, but this book was by far the best. The pictures are big and the subjects are easily identifiable by the kids. There are several pages in this book and the pages are thick enough to allow for rough use guaranteeing hours of fun. PERFECT FOR MY 18 MONTH OLD WHO IS JUST STARTING TO SCRIBBLE :) THE WEIGHT OF THE PAPER IS GREAT TOO, DOESN'T SEEM LIKE IT WILL TEAR EASILY AND SHOULD HOLD UP NICELY WITH SUPERVISION.

I bought this for my teenage daughter who is developmentally disabled. She has loved this coloring book. We bought this in September last year, and she just about has all of the pictures colored now. So it has lasted her almost a year. She went from making a couple of marks on the paper to really covering the page with colors. She still isn't coloring inside the lines, but she is enjoying the process of putting lots of color on the paper. I am getting ready to buy another coloring book in this series to occupy her once this one is full.

This book has a nice feel to it. It is a sturdy paperback book.Its well written and has bold headings. The writing flowed well and I found how the book was divided to be quite useful. There is too much information to be absorbed just by reading through once, so the divided parts and bold headings made it easy to go back and review something if I felt I missed it while reading.The technical information was spot on but as with all technical information it can be a little dry. Luckily in this book there are many anecdotes and personal stories to demonstrate how that technical information comes to play in a real life example. I especially like the story of the ex-con who after serving his time and finding Jesus, had begun a church and then found the unwanted attention of the IRS.

This book is an easy read and it lays out dealing with the IRS in practical terms. It is not a scare tactic and although it uses several case studies, it does not address the extreme cases that are interesting but irrelevant to most of us.I highly recommend this book to anyone about to go head-to-head with the IRS. It is also excellent for small business owners because it lays out common practices to avoid that can get you into big trouble.Full Disclosure: the author and I worked for the same company but in different departments for several years. I was given a copy of the book.

Patrick's book was informative, even for those people who may never need his services. At least I know that expert help is available. Although it could have been boring it was very interesting and well written. My only concern is that the last part of the book seemed to be an advertisement for his services.

Patrick knows his stuff. This books is helpful for anyone looking to get the IRS off their back.

This book is perfect for people like me that has a business but don't know much about the IRS and the taxation. I highly recommend it.

Addison Stone takes the art world by storm with her hanging drawings and magnetic personality. Her death is a tragedy of unfulfilled talent leaving behind friends, family, fans and detractors. But who was she? Writer Adele Griffin inserts herself into the story as biographer of the fictional character, attempting to discover what made and unmade the teenager through a series of interviews with those who knew Addison best.I love a fresh or unconventional take on storytelling and Griffin does just that with THE UNFINISHED LIFE OF ADDISON STONE. She includes photos, drawings, newspaper articles to help tell Addison's story. Unfortunately, Kindle doesn't do the best job depicting images, and I gave up trying to read the newspaper articles because I couldn't expand the words to read them more clearly. I wish I could have also enlarged the drawings and photos. I didn't let formatting effect my review, because that's not Griffin's fault. The aspect of the images I do fault is the quality of the drawings. Addison was supposed to be this once-in-a-lifetime artist, but the drawings looked amateurish and not at all deep or haunting.From the way others described Addison, she seemed quite unlikable, even as a child. Of course, mental illness could have contributed to her self indulgence and narcissism. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, she seemed more schizoaffective to me, with her mood swings, which is ironic because another character was schizoaffective. Addison Stone was a tragic character due to bad parenting, mental illness and being treated special because of her talents. She used people and people used her.THE UNFINISHED LIFE OF ADDISON STONE shows the versatility of Griffin as a storyteller. If you're looking for a different type reading experience you'll enjoy this.

This is one of those books that's on your "To Read" list for the longest time and when you finally get to it you have no idea why in the world you waited so long to read it.This is a fictional account of a prodigy who died young and left behind questions of how she truly died along with questions of who she really was. Gifted. Troubled. Both in more ways than one. I loved, loved, loved the story just as much as I loved all of the characters and hearing straight from the people who knew Addison talk about their memories of Addison - both the good and the bad and the gray. As well as the good and the bad of each other while in Addison's world. Because most everyone's lives revolved around this girl.The story is told in the form of interviews that a journalist has gathered for a biography of Addison Stone, including a few excerpts of interviews Addison once conducted and much of Addison's art. Photos of Addison and those close to her are also intertwined and it's just so fascinating and mesmerizing seeing how much this fictional world and these fictional characters have been brought to life. The way that this story is told is so masterful and when you see it, when you experience this greatness, you'll see exactly what I mean.Addison Stone is a gifted artist haunted by ghosts, burdened by her mental illness, and freed by art. This story means so much to me and I can't even begin to express how happy it makes me to know that this book exists, to know that it's constantly getting into the right readers' hands. This book is absolutely fantastic and is easily one of my favorite reads of the year - and the first month of the year hasn't even come to an end. This book is a true work of art and this piece is one I'll never forget.

This book is written in such a way that you will believe this is a true story. You will be absorbed into Addison's world. You will miss her when you are finished with it. I really loved this book and am recommending it to everyone. I will re-read it several times.

I thought that the multi-genre format of the book was a great idea. Griffin did a good job of keeping characters who were significant in Addison's life from being too one-dimensional, even if we didn't hear from them often. I felt that the inclusion of the mysterious woman from the past was too much of a side story, since Addison's life was interesting enough without her. I don't think the book suffered from it, but also don't think it would have suffered without it.

The format of this book is what makes it very interesting. I must say I have never read anything like this! I found all the different character's perspectives very interesting. Had it not been for this, I probably would have quit reading this book halfway through. I also thought it was interesting that the author addressed mental illness (through the main character, Addison). I found it interesting to read about that struggle in a main character. Overall definitely different but not my favorite.

Purchased for a high school library - I'm sure the kids will enjoy!

Hard to get into but the book is decent.

Book was ok more like a set of interviews which was disconcerting to read. It was ok though, the story intriguing.

The seek/find concept is pretty advanced and I'd imagine that's where the 5-11 age range came from, but this book is a great source for motivational stickers for potty training and the like. I've bought two of these books so far and wouldn't hesitate to order again when we start running low.The larger stickers are big and high quality. The smaller square stickers are where the truth of the "more than 1,000 full-color reusable stickers" statement comes from, but there are still A LOT of the larger stickers as well.It doesn't look like photos of the product can be added to the description above, so I posted two photos with a tape measure for scale here [...] and here [...] to let folks better understand what they're getting. It's sort of surprising to realize that the large stickers are created from photos of the little metal toys. I had no idea how many of those there obviously are.The only thing keeping it from getting the full five stars is that the sheets aren't perforated and many of the stickers go almost up to the binding. If a parent wants to remove a sheet to carry out for the day as rewards the only options are jagged tearing or running a razor blade down the binding and separating other sheets (and compromising the book's binding integrity) as well. A minor problem until you need to do it, but one to be aware of.

My two-year-old love to the sticker book, even after we filled in all of the pages he still like looking through them. I would have given this 5 stars but out of the hundreds of stickers in here there is no Mack? They even have the Peterbilt semi truck that lightning thinks is Mack in the first movie along with so many other characters we don't really care about. That is my only complaint with this awesome sticker book.

Our little one spends hours playing with this sticker book. It’s the second one we’ve bought and will be buying more in the future. It has tons of stickers in it. A lot of them are tiny ones though. There are little descriptions for some of the characters and you can match the sticker up with their designated spot in the book!

Not much else to say. This book has TONS of sticker, is high quality with thicker page and stickers, printed well, etc. My kids LOVE it and I am impressed with its quality. Sometimes you get burned with junk not made well, not printed well, on cheap paper or paper to thin ---NOT in this case. This is a great deal.

This was a fantastic book for the right little boy. He loves the movies and was able to look for the stickers to match the outlines. He loved using the book and I was able to see growth in his being able to locate specific stickers on a page and match them. He is a bright little guy. There were a huge number of extra stickers that he could make "races" and other things with, as well as the sticker used in the first half of the book. It was great to use for travelling, and he looks at the book every day. A good value for a great activity book.

I've purchased four of these so far. My grandson just loves these stickers. Keeps him busy and entertained wherever we go. I take these to the doctor offices to keep him occupied while in the waiting room. Usually another kid or two will come join him in Sticker play. They are good size stickers, easy to peel off for toddler hands, and the best part is that he can reuse them. They come up fairly easy so he can use them again and again. Been buying them for the past year and a half and will continue to do so since he is a bug time Cars fanatic.

Lots of good size stickers but they also have tiny ones also that they add to the count. The stickers don't stick great the clothing which is where my toddler likes to put them. They are good for paper only

This is waaaaay to advanced for my two year old; however, he loves it. It has a TON of stickers. He loves to look through the stickers and learn all the names. We don't use the book pages (there's maybe 10-12), we just put the stickers on paper and hang them in his room. But the amount of stickers is just staggering. A great value.
