This was an excellent book; well written, and fantastically interesting. A 3rd grader I mentor showed me a simpler version of Harriet Tubman's story and was excited to have read it. I had an old copy of this exact book (different cover, earlier publication) that I read and was amazed at Harriet's life. I had heard only the abbreviated, textbook version in my youth, so this was an eye-opener as far as understanding history. Her individual story makes that part of history come alive. I bought this copy so I could give my student this more detailed accounting of Harriet's story. (Since she had so recently read the short version (golden book style), I told her to save it for summer.)I would certainly recommend this book to anyone with any interest in history, good biography, or just an engrossing story. It is all that. Harriet Tubman was an exceptional person. Much of the story is taken from notes transcribed after each of her trips "driving" the "Freedom Train", so the facts were gathered contemporaneously to her adventures, making them probably more reliable and detailed. Read it, you'll like it.

My 5th grader loves loves loves this book!

A very informative book for young readers about the courageous life of Harriet Tubman. A truly remarkable woman and leader. The book was accessible and well written. My 7 & 8 year old enjoyed it very much. I, myself, learned a lot from this book.

A true and harrowing story of how many blacks and slaves shed bonds of slavery and made it to the north for freedom.

As I'm just in the process of arranging a trip to Germany I was delighted to find two of these travel guides to different cities while they were free and grabbed them quick! I got this one (Munich) and the Berlin one too and while they share much of the same basic travel information and guidelines, they each also have fabulous inside information about their chosen destination. The suggested five day itineraries look like they'll be particularly useful for me - though I may well swap a few things around. I like that these books are concise but give you plenty of options of different places to stay, eat and visit during your trip that will suit all budgets and tastes so I definitely recommend them

I have wanted to visit Munich for the longest time but I find the language and culture daunting to a novice traveler such as myself. Glad to have downloaded this book that’s jam-packed with the information I need. The accommodations, the places to visit, the dining spots, and even the addresses and telephone numbers are included. The friendly tone of writing by the author made this book a joy to read. I will surely take this book with me when I get the chance to visit Munich.

Though I haven't planned a vacation yet bound for Germany I still got this book because I have always been fascinated with what Munich can offer to tourists and would be tourist like me. The book gives the reader an overview of Munich's History and also provided the reader insider tips that would make their travel more relaxing and enjoyable.After reading, I found out that Munich has a lot more to offer to it's tourist compared to what I have known already, and the book gives it a full picture of what tourists can enjoy. Nice one!

I always love reading travel books and this is why I love reading them. It is not only informative but very educational as well. I may not be travelling soon but it is good to know a thing or two about a certain place. This is a good resource for breaking down what to do, how to do it, where to stay, planning itineraries, how to get around, what to be careful of, everything. If you want to visit Munich, I recommend you buy this book first!
