Total rip off. It's not the book, it's a jerk writing a one page summary of each chapter and then selling it with the title, claiming it's a novel and taking the cash. AVOID J MORGAN!

Like a lot of us, I was hoping for Ranger, Ranger and more Ranger. I was excited when Morelli seemed to remove himself from the picture. But that didn't happen. This is just the same story line with different cases to solve. I'm not wasting any more money on this series.

I think somebody co-wrote the book. It was flat, boring, and totally predictable. I have laughed out loud with many is her earlier books but this was sad sad so sad.

I've been hanging on to this series for the last few years in hopes that it would return to its former glory (right around book 12 or 13) but sadly this is the end. To be honest, I was expecting to be disappointed but when Evanovich opened the story with the conflict between Morelli and Stephanie I had some hope that this story was not copied and pasted from the last 10 books. Maybe something other than Stephanie's inability to choose between two sexy, at-odds, law enforcement men would not be the focus of the book! Maybe for once, one of the guys will step up and draw the line or Stephanie will put her big girl panties on and choose. It was endearing and understandable in the beginning but now the theme of indecision is tired if not dead. The story ends the same way it has ended for the few books. Morelli doesn't change at all and I was kind of excited and intrigued by what he could be up to if we wasn't a police officer or with Stephanie Plum. Ranger has zero charisma in this book which is a waste of his mysterious and thrilling background.The plot of the book was ridiculous. Stephanie used to get involved in hilarious adventures that were plausible because she was so clumsy and desperate and in New Jersey, the Capital of Weirdness. I think Evanovich is running out of stories for our bounty hunter because she for the last two books (SPOILER ALERT) she has been using terrorism and now bioterrorism. These are serious crimes on a national level. It's not funny because Stephanie is so far out of her depth that there is no way for her to actually stay ahead. The villain is also, for lack of better word, stupid. I miss the gangbangers, the deadly funeral directors, and psychotic gamers. In the past, Trenton and the people living there, provided a rich environment for crazy criminals but now it is a dull background with boring and predictable interactions.Lula and the gang of supporting characters can't help this book. I'm pretty sure that Lula has actually been copied and pasted for the last 5 books. Vinnie isn't remotely funny. Grandma can't even make me laugh! I feel like we have been beat over the head with these character traits for the last few books. The only thing we know for sure is Lula is a big woman with a lot of personality, big appetite, and promiscuous out look on life. Come on, this woman is a former ho! In the beginning she at least had spark and fire but I can't remember the last time she had development. Lula's lack of development is a huge loss. Grandma likes funerals, men and big guns. We get it. Ranger and Morelli are hot and Stephanie can't choose between them. Fine we get it but it's Plum's loss.Stephanie hasn't changed at all. I'm not saying she has to be a badass bounty hunter or become better at everything but she has to make choices. Choices drive a character's development and she has made none of them. She literally muddles through crises as they come up and then goes back to whatever she was doing before . After 22 books and countless adventures she would make a bad mentor to anyone in the bounty hunting business. She could have been hilarious in a teaching role.Sadly I bought this book in Kindle format at 13.99. For the first time I wish I could I could return a Stephanie Plum book.

But here’s the thing…you and Stephanie have been going around in circles since 1994. Now I know that time moves at a different pace in the land of Plum, but even so you two haven’t made much progress since High School, and before you know it you’ll be staring at a 40 year old man in the mirror. Isn’t it about time you grew up just the teeniest bit?If you’ve been keeping up with the Plum series then “Tricky Twenty-Two” will feel eerily familiar. And that’s because it just more of the same. Same cars getting annihilated, same break-up then make-up tango with Morelli, same platonic sleep-overs at Ranger’s place, same Lula scarfing down fried food. There’s absolutely nothing new here, even the big zit on Stephanie’s chin has made an encore appearance.So why do I keep reading these books? Good question, and one I ask myself every single time I finish a Plum novel. I think it’s a combination of hope and nostalgia. Nostalgia for a series that I adored way back in the day and hope that I’ll catch a glimpse of the magic that made the early books so special. Alas, my hopes were dashed with this one; no magic to speak of here, but it did bring back memories (mostly because the plot was recycled).I’m going for three stars with this one – it was ‘OK’ for what it is. Keep your expectations low and you won’t be disappointed.

I think it is time to sign off with this author. No tension and not much action almost as if the author has gotten tired of the characters. Come on Janet, pick up the pace and add some action to the stories!

I was so excited when I saw an ad for this book on Divine Mercy shortly after it was published. My daughter was baptized on Divine Mercy Sunday that year. I didn't know too much about Divine Mercy prior to her baptism, but wanted to learn more after I participated in our parish's sung afternoon devotion that day. This book was an accessible read that helped me approach the topic, and I am grateful for it. The suggestions for living the works of mercy have impacted our family as we continue to grow. Thanks to the authors for this labor of love!

This was a really easy bible study, but also very affirming. It allowed me to see that I DO practice mercy more than I think. There wasn't a lot of bible reading per se, like traditional studies, but it is perfect for busy moms who aren't looking for something intense. We did this during the Year of Mercy.

It's a good book, but not the perfect book that would be Divine Mercy for Moms and all that it entails. The authors forget to explain the PLENARY INDULGENCE attached to Divine Mercy Sunday. They talk about the 33 Days to Morning Glory, but fail to distinguish it from the full complete version of St. Louis De Monfort. I found it lacking in the spiritual works of mercy wanting more out of this chapter. I loved the links and it was a great easy read.

I absolutely loved this book. It came in the mail on Wednesday, and I finished it that day. It truly is a life changing read. My family and I are recent converts and I did not know much about the Divine Mercy Chaplet or St. Faustina. It has really opened my eyes to yet another beautiful dimension of our Catholic faith, so thank you for being obedient in your call to write this amazing book for moms!

God's Mercy is an untapped resource by so many. 'Divine Mercy for Moms' simplifies daily acts and reinforces that we are all a lot closer to God's Love and Mercy than we may think. He truly does thirst for each and every one of us! I had the privilege of reading this book in a small group setting and the sharing that went on based on St. Faustina's messages was so inspiring. The group's sharing based on the Study Guide questions was a gift for me and I highly encourage you to do the same with other women in your parish community!

We picked this wonderful book for our book club meeting. The practical way in which the authors present living Divine Mercy was inspiriting. The chapters were filled with information that worked well for group discussion. In this the year of Mercy we felt inspired to learn more about the message of Mercy and this was the perfect book to foster a devotion to it.

This is one of my favorite purchases this year! Loved the book and related to it tremendously!

While I don't agree with Dr. Biermann in every particular he sets forth, I highly recommend this book as an insightful and helpful critique of, first, what exactly is wrong with contemporary Lutheran attitudes toward ethics and living a faithful Christian life, and second, a way forward to correct this problem. Dr. Biermann explicates a theory, derived from Martin Luther and Philipp Melanchthon, that there are "three kinds of righteousness," a framework that is compatible with the three uses of the Law and with the three articles of the creed. Having spent time in both a liberal Lutheran denomination and one that is much more confessionally Lutheran, I have seen a variety of problems and pitfalls attendant in ignoring ethics, or assuming they will take care of themselves if we only preach more Gospel, or fearing that if we speak of anything besides justification, people will think they have to earn their salvation. All of these approaches are false and not consonant with our Lutheran heritage, as Dr. Biermann aptly demonstrates. The framework he proposes combats these notions and will surely pave the way for greater understanding and everyday pursuit of God's will (without doing so legalistically) for all who read and engage his book with an open mind.

Very insightful and relevant discussion regarding a Lutheran approach to virtue/ character development. Worth the read. Only criticism is that it's short on practical pastoral application.

Bierman does a good job with this book.

Biermann is leading Lutherans into considering how horizontal righteousness is a meet, right, and salutary topic for us to be discussing, and actions to be doing.

In a society that denies absolutes, says that each person decides for self what is good, and in general has forgotten proper behavior, Biermann calls for the church to actively teach Christians how to act toward other people and how to conduct themselves in a sinful world. Not to earn God's favor - that's already given as a gift because of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Rather, because God has given us His favor in Christ, Christians need to learn how to live as God's people - and the church, based on Scripture, needs to teach that skill.

A valuable read and most needed in a culture that major in looking good rather than being good.

He does not make any argument greater than what is found in the Table of Duties. Biermann is a brilliant man. He blew me away when I sat in his classes. This comes across more as if he is still struggling to come to a conclusion or answer to the problem. The truly frustrating part is that this book is largely just a large synopsis of what others have done and then very little argument for a Lutheran virtue ethic.

Many Christians have noticed the death of character in the Western world. More horrifying is the Church's refusal to teach God's will and shape the character of her members. This is especially true in the Lutheran Church. Many pastors, theologians, and laypeople refuse to talk of ethics. Their excuse? They are defending the Gospel, the message that we are declared right with God by grace through faith for the sake of Christ. However, does the Gospel really prevent us from teaching ethics and cultivating character?In the first chapter, Dr. Joel Biermann gives a brief overview of Virtue Ethics and how it does not share the common weaknesses of Deontology and Utilitarianism. He also introduces his reader to Stanley Hauerwas, who accused the Reformation of divorcing Doctrine from Ethics. Is this a fair estimation of the Reformation Movement?In the second chapter, Dr. Biermann introduces his reader to four Lutheran theologians (Yeago, Benne, Hutter, and Meilaender) who believe that modern Lutheranism has neglected ethics and that many Lutherans are Antinomians (those against the Law) and Soteriological Reductionists (salvation is all that matters). He reviews their proposed solutions and finds them wanting.In the third chapter, Dr. Biermann considers the Lutheran Confessions. Through ample quotations from the Confessions and from the authors of the Confessions, Biermann proves that the Lutheran Fathers did have a place in their theology for Ethics and that they believed Ethics was intimately related to Justification. For example, the Confessions clearly state that God redeemed us, so that we can keep the Law. In other words, the Gospel serves the Law (Large Catechism 2:2, 69). He also argues that Luther and Melanchthon taught a biblical kind of Virtue Ethics (i.e. they believed the goal of mankind is to live as a human creatures through faith toward God and love for creation and that this goal gives us our Christian virtues).In the fourth chapter, Dr. Biermann considers several paradigms that Lutherans have used to organize their theology. He considers the Motivation Paradigm and the Law-Gospel Paradigm and finds that they do not permit much room for Ethics. He then considers the Two Kinds of Righteousness. However, even this paradigm does not distinguish between the believer's active righteousness and the unbeliever's active righteousness. So, Biermann considers several writings of Luther and Melanchthon, combine their insights, and suggests the Three Kinds of Righteousness as a paradigm. The 3KR both protect justification by grace, but also promotes the growth of Christian character.In the fifth chapter, Dr. Biermann places the 3KR in a Creedal Framework and emphasizes the importance of the Christian Narrative for character formation. He emphasizes that God redeems his creatures, so that they can live as creatures were meant to live. This brings the first, second, and third articles of the Creed together and shows us that both justification and ethics are parts of a larger whole.Finally, Dr. Biermann urges all Lutherans to adopt Virtue Ethics and to use the Christian community, worship, and catechesis to form the individual Christian's character.This book is an excellent defense of Virtue Ethics, character formation, and the new obedience of the Christian. It corrects many theological errors that prevent Christians from seeing God's Law in a positive light. I especially appreciated how Dr. Biermann emphasized that Christian Virtue Ethics is about the mundane activities every person experiences and not about far-fetched ethical dilemmas. The one criticism I have of this book is that it could have offered some concrete examples of character formation in the Church. For example, Biermann introduces his book with the story of a pastor who ignores Paul's exhortations within his text during his sermon. He could have offered us an example of a sermon that does not ignore these ethical exhortations, but embraces them in such a way that does not result in works righteousness.

As a word of warning, do not purchase this book expecting it to teach you math fundamentals. If you do not have a background of at least algebra and trigonometry (and preferably a bit of calculus), you owe it to yourself to pick up another book and brush up on these fundamentals. While there are a few appendices covering a handful of topics, they are less about explaining the topic and more of reference pages.Mathematics for 3D Game Programming and Computer Graphics is an excellent reference book for anyone doing 3D work. The topics are very to the point and few pages are wasted explaining basic math principles (hence the warning about having a decent math background). The book probably won't teach anyone who doesn't know they underlying principles but will be your go-to reference for any algorithm you implement.The book starts with the reviews of the requisite vector, matrix, transformation (including rotations by quaternions) and basic geometry for a view frustum, but quickly dives into more advanced topics. Ray tracing is covered for all areas of use, from light maps to reflections. The lighting chapter covers texturing using several map types as well as lighting models with a very enjoyable discussion of specular reflection models.Solid chapters on culling using bounding volumes and portal systems, shadowing and curve algorithms round out the first half of the book. The second half is devoted to the mathematics of physics, with chapters on basic collision detection, linear and rotational physics. The simulation of fluids and cloth (one of the more difficult physical models to accurately compute in a game) gets it's own chapter and it's a highlight for anyone implementing character clothing animation or a realistic water volume.Every chapter has exercises (with and appendix of answers) to reinforce the material. The C++ and GLSL shader code is available on the books companion website ([...]) much of which forms the basis for the math classes of the authors own engine.Anyone who needs a math reference book for 3D would do well to own this book. If you are writing your own engine, you owe it to yourself to pick up what will be the only math book you will need. While many technical books do not age well, this hardcover book will last through many late-night coding sessions both physically and with regard to the material within at a low price point. Never again will you have to scour through your old textbooks or search online for the algorithm you are trying to implement. The author has done the impossible; make a truly terrific math textbook.

Mathematics for 3D Game Programming and Computer Graphics by Eric Lengyel is one of those books I have literally been eyeing for years and just never got around to reading. If you are not familiar, Eric Lengyel is the creator of the C4 Engine, and also the author of various game development books. He is well regarded in the community, so I assumed this was a must read title. After reading it, I still agree; it’s an excellent source of knowledge.The book covers the basic stuff you would expect from a 3D math book: vectors, matrices, quaternions, intersections between various types of geometry, visibility, etc. Great, so the bases are covered. Lengyel goes a bit further, though, and discusses other topics that are very important in computer graphics. For example: lighting and shadowing, decals, curved surfaces, and physics (including fluid and cloth simulation). So a decent amount of topics are covered, but the chapters are still brief enough to finish each in one sitting.While there are some implementation examples, the text is pretty light on the code. The code that is here is mostly based around OpenGL, however the concepts should still translate to DirectX. Not a huge issue. When needed, he does show code samples, but most of the copy is dedicated to math discussion and the equations.Granted, some of the equations and proofs were dense and hard to follow. This was made worse by the fact that I was reading this on the Kindle, and the equations were made up of small images you couldn’t zoom in on. Having said that, I still understood most of the concepts, but there were a few times I felt overwhelmed. I can’t really fault the author for that, since his written explanations were all very clear and concise. It’s just some of the content is deep and complex, so be prepared.All in all, I found this to be a great resource and you can never know enough math in this field. Unfortunately, I will still probably have to look up some of the equations online or in other books due to the low quality of the images in the e-book. But this is a minor complaint compared to the amount of information backed in this title. I would recommend this.

I've been away from math for too long - it's a tough read but mostly because I have become sloppy in my old age. I suspect the book is more intended for the reader who wants to look up a specific topic but I'm reading it from cover to cover just out of interest in this whole game engine thing. Also I refuse to move along until I"m sure I understand each proof. Probably my bucket book.
