About the Author

Bernhard Ott was born in Switzerland where he lives now with his wife Margrit. They are the parents of four adult children. The Otts are members of the Evangelische Taufergemeinde Basel.Ott's theological training is from the Theological Seminary Bienenberg, Switzerland (Diploma, 1977), Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary in Fresno, California (Master of Divinity, 1984), and the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies in Oxford, England (Ph.D., 1999). Ott has taught at the Theological Seminary Bienenberg since 1980. He had been the Director of Studies there since 1984. He has also taught extensively in Switzerland, Germany, and Paraguay.

This book is a great Bible Study for either New Christians or a mixed group of Old and New. It is very simply written so it will be of less value to those who are looking for in depth information, but very valuable for those beginning their walk with Christ.

I love it!

I found God's Shalom Project to be a great source of information on the understanding of complex theological issues linking the Old and New Testaments, describing the choice of Israel to be God's set apart people, the 1st Century Church, non-jewish Christians or Gentiles and the church of today which includes many different people groups. Bernhard Ott's writing and Timothy Geddart translation is very readable and comprehendable on the subject matter. I highly recommend the book for any student, scholar, or the average person wanting more information about whether God is a "selective" God who favors one particular people group over another or extends his grace and forgiveness to all humanity.
